Antifa Prevents Police from Helping Car Accident Victims & Loots the First Starbucks, Lockdown=900K Deaths, Kidnapped Chinese Billionaire?, Israel Cures (Some Blindness), (The Five for 01/21/21)
Hey,
Before we begin…
A. Join the Viritual (And Un-Cancel-able) Community
Apparently I put the wrong link into the last email about the Private Social Network I’ve built for the readership of The Five. The Discord server I set up is about gathering to improve yourself and your community…as the world is more chaotic, a few of us are gathering to be more centered and purposeful.
There are great conversations happening around:
workouts/fitness
investing
reading
community development (building relationships w/neighbors, coaching little league, etc.)
self defense
gear/hobbies
This is a paritsan free zone, so keep it positive and thoughtful. We’re not gathering to argue, we’re gathering to get better, smarter and more focused.
Join the Discord here.
B. Support the Channel in the Age of Censorship
In related news, I launched a Patreon page if you would like to donate to help this channel grow. If you find value here, a recurring donation (in the survey, most people said they would be down to donate $3-5/month) helps support:
Ads on social media while we can still do that. This is pretty crazy…but no one has unsubscribed from this newsletter in a year. People are hungry for clear, thoughtful, non-partisan news coverage in a world driven by click-bait garbage “news.” I don’t know how long a channel like this will be able to advertise in the age of censorship, so I’d like to start ads sooner rather than later.
Private server space to make sure this community has a place to gather. The discussions happening on the Discord server are all about people improving their lives, swapping valueable info around money, career, health and skills. We can no longer trust Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Reddit to be places to gather, because accounts are being canceled with no notice or reason as to why. I love what’s happening in the online community, but to keep it going, server space has to be rented.
Make a one-time or recurring donation here.
On to The Five.

If you were wondering if the far-left violent extremist group Antifa would be appeased with Donald Trump leaving The White House, we now have the answer. In Seattle, Antifa clashed with police and burned American flags, which was captured on Twitter by @BGOnTheScene.
According to the local ABC affiliate KOMO, the marchers chanted “No Cops! No Prisons! Total Abolition!”
Antifa also smashed and looted the very first Starbucks in Seattle…cause, obviously coffee is the reason people are in prison and if you destroy the coffee prison doors will magically swing open. [eye roll]
Up in Portland, Antifa prevented first responders from helping bystanders who were trapped in an overturned car, according to the the city’s own website.
The U.S. is facing increased violence from extremists from more than one political stripe…and if you thought Biden’s Inaguration would cool off the rage…apparently that didn’t work.
A huge part of the reason I write this newsletter is to reach people with imporant info so they’re not pulled into ideological extremism…which doesn’t even make sense.
How does letting bystanders die in a car accident advance your cause?
What happens if we really do abolish all prisons? I’m willing to bet some of those rapists and murderers would probably rape and murder as soon as they were free, just like James Williams in Tampa, Florida…who was released from prison early due to COVID. He did an interview on TV about how happy he was to be out of prison. Within hours, he had murdered a rival, and was arrested carrying drugs and an illegal handgun the next day.
These extremists (on all sides) who destroy property and threaten the lives of the innocent, don’t even want what they think they want. Which is why we must communicate clearly and compassionately with undisputed facts if you and I are going to be a part of the movement that keeps the country from ripping itself apart.

When COVID hit, every available option (to lock down, not lock down, or partially lock down) was going to kill somebody.
This week, the National Bureau for Economic Research released a paper showing that the economic slowdown may cause an additional 900,000 deaths over the next 15 years.
The Foundation for Economic Education reports:
Rising unemployment has long been correlated with higher death rates. A 1979 study concluded that for every 10 percent increase in unemployment, mortality increased by 1.2 percent. For this reason, social scientists have long argued that employment and economic growth are essential components of a healthy society.
“Economic growth is the single most important factor relating to length of life,” said Yale School of Medicine professor M. Harvey Brenner in 2002, following completion of a pivotal study exploring the relationship between unemployment and mortality. “Employment is the essential element of social status and it establishes a person as a contributing member of society and also has very important implications for self-esteem.”
The study is backed with similar findings from Harvard and Yale.

A company in Israel…built a bionic eye. And it actually works.
A legally blind 78-year old man has regained his sight after being the inaugural patient to receive a promising new type of corneal implant, Israel Hayom has reported. Developed by a company called CorNeat, the KPro is the first implant that can be integrated directly into the eye wall to replace scarred or deformed corneas with no donor tissue. Immediately after the surgery, the patient was able to recognize family members and read numbers on an eye chart.
The corona is the clear layer that covers and protects the front portion of the eye. It can degenerate or scar for various reasons, including diseases like pseudophakic bullous keratopathy, kerotoconus and trauma.

Missing Chinese Billionaire Jack Ma, who’s essentially the Jeff Bezos of Asia, resurfaced in an online video after being declared missing for months following critcism of the Communist governement.
The Daily Wire reported earlier this month that Ma had not been seen since October following some very light push back against Communism:
Yahoo reported that speculation regarding Ma’s absence focused on his October 24 speech at Bund Summit in Shanghai, where he suggested reforming China’s banking system.Today’s financial system is the legacy of the Industrial Age,” Ma reportedly said at the summit. “We must set up a new one for the next generation and young people. We must reform the current system.”
“What we need is to build a healthy financial system, not systematic financial risks,” Ma also said. “To innovate without risks is to kill innovation. There’s no innovation without risks in the world.”
It’s not been proven, but is cetainly suspected, that Jack Ma is being held against his will and “re-educated” in by the Communist Dictatorship…and his public appearance may have been coerced.
Whatever problems the U.S. has, I’m thankful to live in a place where free speech is still protected, and I don’t worry about the government kidnapping me for my opinions.

Well, let’s end on something a little lighter, after all the rioting and murder and kidnapping in this edition of The Five.
Professor Henry Bauer's research suggests the turtle may have become trapped in the Loch when water levels reduced at the end of the most recent Ice Age.
That time period was around 12,000 years ago.
The US scientist worked at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and doesn't believe Nessie was a dinosaur.
He thinks all the potential sightings and descriptions describe turtle-like behaviour, such as breathing air but living underwater.
Sightings of the elusive “monsters” were recorded as early at 500 A.D.
Until the next one,
